1. Subscription model
TagTier is billed monthly via the Shopify Billing API. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice and follow Shopify's billing schedule (monthly recurring, aligned to your store's billing cycle).
We currently offer:
- Free plan — No charge. Available to development stores and stores under 100 orders/month, subject to feature limits.
- Standard plan — $29 / month, with a 14-day free trial.
A Plus plan is in development and will be listed here once available.

2. Free trial
2.1 Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. We do not require a credit card to start a trial.
2.2 You will not be charged during the trial. If you don't choose a paid plan when the trial ends, you'll be downgraded to the Free plan or paused, depending on your usage. We won't auto-charge you without a confirmed paid plan selection within Shopify's billing flow.
2.3 You can convert to a paid plan at any time during the trial. The first billing cycle starts when the trial ends.
3. Cancellation
3.1 You can cancel your TagTier subscription at any time by:
- Uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin (this also stops billing), or
- Downgrading to the Free plan from inside the App.
3.2 Effective date of cancellation. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You retain access to paid features until then.
3.3 No mid-cycle pro-ration. Because billing aligns to Shopify's cycle, we don't pro-rate refunds for partial months. If you cancel on day 5 of a 30-day cycle, you keep paid access through day 30 and aren't charged again.
3.4 Data retention after cancellation. See Section 7 of our Privacy Policy. In short: operational data is deleted within 30 days of uninstall; backups within 90 days.
4. Refund eligibility
We don't generally offer refunds, because (a) the App is provided continuously throughout each billing cycle and (b) Shopify's Billing API doesn't natively support automatic partial refunds.
However, we will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis for any of the following:
- Billing errors — duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, or charges after a confirmed cancellation. We will refund the affected amount in full.
- Significant Service outage — if TagTier was unavailable for more than 4 consecutive hours during a billing cycle due to our infrastructure (not Shopify's, not yours), we will issue a pro-rated credit or refund.
- First-charge accidents — if you converted to a paid plan by mistake within 3 business days of the conversion and have not actively used paid features, contact us and we'll refund the first charge.
- Plus plan onboarding issue — if a Plus customer's onboarding cannot be completed within 30 days of subscription due to limitations on our side, we'll refund any unused months.
5. Refund requests — how to ask
Email billing@tagtier.com with:
- Your Shopify store URL
- The billing date and amount in question
- A short description of why you're requesting a refund
We aim to respond within 2 business days and to process approved refunds within 10 business days. Refunds are issued through Shopify's Billing API and appear as a credit on your next Shopify invoice.
6. What we don't refund
To set expectations clearly:
- Past months of usage where the App was working normally and you simply chose to stop using it
- Charges processed by Shopify outside our control (Shopify's own platform fees, transaction fees, third-party app fees)
- Use of Free plan features that you later wish you'd paid for
- Downgrade-related credits. When you move from a higher plan to a lower one, the change applies at the next billing cycle without a refund for the current cycle.
7. Disputes and chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at billing@tagtier.com before filing a chargeback with your bank or with Shopify. Most issues we can resolve within 48 hours. Repeated unfounded chargebacks may result in account suspension under our Terms of Service.
8. Statutory consumer rights
These policies don't override any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer in your jurisdiction. EU/UK consumers may have additional withdrawal rights under local law; however, business-to-business transactions for SaaS services are typically excluded from consumer-protection regimes.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
